The roman Subarmalia is a padded garment to be worn beneath armours (Lorica Hamata or Segmentata) like a gambeson. It offers considerably better wearing comfort to carriers of roman chainmail or plate armours.
Our Subarmalia has sewn and padded stripes (lat. pteryges), which build the typical apron.
The Subarmalia can be laced at the sides.
